Date - 27/7/20                                  Re opening date and changes in the gym

Things may look a little different when you walk back through our doors.  We’ve made quite a few changes during this unprecedented time. Some have been in an effort to reopen our doors which will now be on the 3rd August and some are so they can stay that way. We’d like to thank you in advance for your understanding and support. We’ve missed each and every one of you.

Firstly, we’ve moved equipment around to facilitate the social distancing space requirements. Further in line with the distancing requirements, and much to our dismay, we’ve had to make the difficult decision to eliminate our classes. The studio now houses a serious functional training space complete with large mat area, a few TRX, medicine balls, barbells and other weights. This space is perfect for individual use as well as small group training for PTs.

Since we must limit overall numbers of people in the gym at any one time, we’ll be implementing workout-waves. We don’t foresee Inspire reaching maximum capacity but to help avoid this, we’d like you to book your workout slot prior to arrival. You can do this by checking the website or via our new app (see note below).

Lastly, the minute we were forced to close, we immediately froze every membership at Inspire. While it’s made life a little more difficult for us as a small business, it was the right thing to do. For the first time in more than 3 years though, we’ve had to raise our membership rates. We avoided an increase for as long as we could, but with the current climate and new normal, this will help us keep our doors open and the lights on.  Direct debits will be reinstated once we open and all members will get our ‘lockdown time’ credited to your current membership. We will also be transitioning our memberships into just two simple and streamlined, rolling formats (one-month’s cancellation notice applies to both). If you’re a member currently fulfilling an original 12-month contract, you will not see an increase in fees until the end of your term and then you’ll be automatically be transferred to the new rolling system.

-   Please arrive on time.

  • Please arrive in your workout kit and bring as little as possible with you as we will not be able to hold any personal belongings behind the desk.

    • We now have 6 small secure lockers available for your convenience.
  • Continue with your hygiene practices.
  • We aren’t closing our showers down, but we’d advise you to avoid using the changing rooms and showers when possible.
  • If you’ve felt unwell recently DO NOT come to the gym.

    • This includes but is not limited to;

      • a continuous cough
      • a shortness of breath
      • a high temperature
      • loss of, or change in your sense of taste and smell
  • Please try to keep purchases (water, protein bars, etc) to contactless whenever possible.
  • Limit your overall workout time.
  • Keep an eye out for an email regarding the implementation of our new App through ClubLink (this links to our new membership system and will allow you turnstile access).
  • Please be respectful of others at all times.
  • Your health is your responsibility.

  • Hand sanitiser stations will be available for your use.
  • We advise you strongly to wipe down all the equipment you use before & after use.
  • Maintain your social distance throughout the gym. This may mean an alteration in your workout plan.
  • Masks and gloves are not mandatory but you are more than welcome to wear and use your own.

Again, we cannot thank enough for your continued support and commitment to Inspire. Keeping the curve flat comes down to each one of us individually. As a team, we’ve implemented the government’s recommendations but the rest is up to you. We’re asking everyone to show some extra kindness, patience and understanding while we all navigate this new normal.

We can’t wait to see our Inspire Tribe again!!

Date - 4/5/20                                   Your Free at home workout

So without further ado as it's 4pm on the 4th May your Free Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced at home workouts are now available.

To access them, please send us an email (from the email address you registered with your memberhip) to with your name and which program you want to use (beginner, intermediate or advanced).  There are a mixture of bodyweight and banded exercises included over the 12 week period. The beginner program is a twice a week workout and both the intermediate and advanced are a three times a week workout, all will challenge both your strength and your cardio and all will change and progress over the 12 week period

Once we receive your email Dave will register it and you'll receive an email with instructions and a link to download the app he uses with his clients and once activated Dave will assign your chosen program.

We chose banded workouts for 3 reasons:

1. Bands aren't in short supply and still available to purchase online (unlike weights).

2. They are relatively inexpensive.

3. Most banded exercises can be substituted for weighted exercises if you have free weights (or household items lying around the house you can use).

It would be great if you can tag us on your social media (facebook/instagram) if you're using the workouts we'd love to hear how you're getting along with some before/after/during your workout videos or pictures!

If you'd like anything more personalised to you, the equipment you have available, and your goals please feel free to get in touch with Dave directly - as he is still conducting PT sessions with new and existing clients via Zoom!

We look forward to seeing you all once the restricions are lifted!

With well wishes from all at Inspire Fitness Centre

Hello Inspire Members

In light of recent developments, when we are surrounded with so much change and uncertainty, we need more than ever to find ways of looking after ourselves.

The meeting will be online via a well-known service called Zoom, which is similar to Skype. There is no need for a Zoom account.

You will need to book onto the class online (or by following the link below) and then 10 minutes before the class start time, you will be emailed a link to the class.  Simply click on the link from any computer, phone or tablet to join the session. Each session will last for about 45-60 minutes.

Marzena - Yoga - Private class (Wed 01, 11:00AM)

Our first session will be on THURSDAY, 26th March at 10 am (GMT), and I will be talking about fear, how to deal with it, and about the five signatures of fear.

I plan for the subsequent sessions to be:

The calls will be recorded, and Marzena will send the recordings to you as soon as she can, so if you can’t attend or would like to watch it or listen to it again, you will be able to do it in your own time.

For those of you that don’t know Marzena, she is a personal development coach, yoga and meditation teacher. If you are interested in finding out more about what she does, please visit her website:

Date - 20/3/20                                   Government Closure

Hello Inspire Members,

We’re sure most of you have already heard, but if not, the PM has mandated that we close our doors as of this evening (20 March 2020 at 2000hrs). While this is unfortunate, we understand that it is for the safety of the majority.  With this guidance in mind, whilst we are closed, you will not be charged for your membership. We we will be freezing every membership until we can open our doors to you once again.

As we mentioned previously, now is the time to think of each other, to connect with each other and to care for each other. We just want you to know that we care about you and your continued well-being and we thank you for being our loyal customer by supporting our local, small business. We will be looking into remote training and providing you with home workouts that anyone will be able to do with the space you have.  Also, if you’re looking for a more tailored program, please get in touch with one of our personal trainers and they will be more than happy to make that happen.

We will miss each and every one of you but please know, we’ll be back and we’ll all be stronger. Thank you for supporting us.

Be well,

The Inspire Team

Date - 20/3/20                                   Important Announcement - Temporary Change to Operating Hours

We would just like you all to know that we're doing our best to adapt to changes at Inspire. We've spaced out our equipment and increased the sanitisation schedule as a result of Covid-19 as well as introduce an over 70's only time so we can help those isolating.

Today we've made the decision to take some further measures for the continued well being of our members and staff. As of Monday we are reducing the number of people allowed to use the gym at any given time to 10 across cardio/weights areas plus 6 in the studio when classes are scheduled.

We have also made the decision (due to decreased traffic in the gym and the potential for and due to current staffing issues we are experiencing) that we will now be open from 6.30am until 5.00pm Monday to Friday and 8.00am until 4.00pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Again this is subject to change and dependent on the country's ever changing circumstances. We will keep you all informed as and when and with as much notice as is possible for us to give.

We are doing our level best as a small business to manage the situation as best we can in order to provide the best service to all our members. Thank you for your understanding and your support in keeping our doors open.

Date - 18/3/20

During this time of anxiety and uncertainty, the health and safety of our customers is always our top priority at Inspire, it’s one of the reasons we opened a community orientated gym to begin with. As we navigate the current health crisis together, we will continue to prioritise the safety and well-being of our team members, their families and our members. We value the role we play in helping you maintain and improve your health and fitness and we love being a part of your daily lives. We appreciate that you place your trust in us and we work hard to ensure that we adhere to the very highest of standards.

We also understand that we are currently living in extraordinary circumstances. As it stands currently, we will not be closing our doors.  However, we are going to be taking further measures to enhance the procedures already in place. The current guidance is to advise caution to our Over 70’s population. If you have any underlying heart of lung conditions, or of the immuno-suppressent population — be sensible and cautious. Avoid close contact with others and crowded spaces. For those who are over 70, have an underlying health condition or are pregnant, they are strongly advised against these activities and to significantly limit face-to-face interaction with friends and family if possible.

With this guidance in mind, Inspire Fitness Centre will be altering our hours of operation for all of our members. In effect from 19 March 2020 and until further notice, our membership falling into the Over 70s category will be the ONLY members allowed to train during the hours of 1300hrs-1400hrs Monday - Friday. Our staff will be re-sanitising the gym prior to this allotted time to help ensure our environment does not contribute to the spread of the virus. Any member under 70, will be turned away until after 1400hrs. We realise that this might alter your routine but we ask that you be considerate and respectful to our population and understand that we’re all in this together. It’s imperative that we work as a team so that everyone can continue to utilise our training facility safely.

The size of our facility is not lost on us and it’s been one of our favourite aspects of Inspire simply because we’re not a big box gym with no soul. While we may be practising social distancing, staying healthy also means not falling into an unhealthy pattern of social isolation. Therefore we will also be limiting the number of members that can be training on site at any one time. We will also be limiting the number of people per studio class. Please feel free to call us in advance to enquire about the current numbers of people in the gym.

Furthermore, if you feel at all unwell, please make the right decision and stay at home. New guidance is to stay at home for 14 days if someone in your household has symptoms of COVID-19 and If other members of your household develop symptoms, however mild, at any time during the 14 days, they must not leave the home for 7 days from when symptoms started. If this is the case, our personal trainers are available to support you with home training programs if you should be so inclined.

Now is the time to think of each other, to connect with each other and to care for each other. We just want you to know that we care about you and your continued well-being and we thank you for being our loyal customer by supporting our local, small business. We will continue to monitor the ever-changing situation so that we can continue to serve you and our local community.

Be well,

The Inspire Team
